Austin Family Vacation - Day 1
These pictures make me so happy! This past June, we finally made our first family trip to Austin to visit Uncle Zachie and his family. I have traditionally made it a fun "Auntie Tara" trip in the past, but I was excited and ready to share it all with Brent and the boys.
It is SO fun to watch the cousins play together. They're really
precious...and you almost wouldn't know that they see each other so
rarely. The games quickly escalated to include the neighbor kids, however I found myself a bit concerned as they were filming each other doing silly stuff and joking like they were going to post these "scenes" on YouTube. Zach's front yard provided a great area for them to play.
Wow, this is cute! My sweet niece, Camille, is sandwiched between her big boy cousins on the couch on our first morning there. No one could believe it, but we blitzed the whole trip (all 14 hours of it!) in one long day, though we set off at a very unreasonable 5 am. And the boys did surprisingly well with it, especially on the way out. Auntie Lorna couldn't believe that we were arriving in time for dinner Saturday night! Our goal was to get there in time to enjoy Zach's day off together on Sunday. I have to give my husband credit where credit is due, because his calculations of the duration of the road trip were right on, and he stayed the course, driving every mile of the trip, himself. (For the record, I did offer, but he prefers to do the driving, so I really don't complain!)
