Gavin's Home Cooking

Mom was away with some friends so I took the opportunity to pull off a nice guys day/night.  First up was some cooking lessons for Gavin.  This is actually a meal he cooked entirely himself while I served as his helper.  We had bbq chicken, wild rice, a corn/green bean mix, and some sourdough bread.  He was quite proud of himself and what he was able to make, though still a bit shy without a shirt on!

We had to finish up the evening with a nice game of Acquire.  This was an old college favorite and also teaches the kids strategy and critical thinking while learning about money and corporations.  What a great time with the boys!

Ride with a Colorful View

I ride the old Morgul Bismark course loop quite often during the summer months.  As you descend down into South Boulder from the direction of Golden there is an amazing view of the flatirons.  People are often stopped to take picture from this overlook, but today there was quite a special crew there.  Arranged like a rainbow of colors was a selection of exotic cars that must have been out for a nice cruise and now was pulled over for some amazing pictures.  I am not sure I could name all the cars but certainly a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, and a high end Audi were there.  Pretty amazing so I had to pull over myself to get a quick picture!

Broomfield Fives

Gage joined the Prestige soccer team this soccer which is the top team for his age group in Broomfield Soccer Club.  He was quite excited as he was the only player to be pulled up from the second team to the top team after tryouts.  The late summer starts with Broomfield Fives (5 v 5 weekly small sided games) for his team.  Here he is joining his new crew for the first few games.  His team gear hasn't arrived yet, so we put him a random greenish long sleeve shirt that kind of looked like a goalie shirt.

They actually had a rough go for their first game, as they played the Prestige team that is a year older than they were.  Gage played pretty well and made some good saves, however the other team had too many goals this go around!

Delivery Service w/ Grandpa & Grandma Mike

My mom and Bob stopped by as they prepare to move across the country to New York for their next adventure in life.  They kids were a bit all over the neighborhood when they arrived, but soon Gage returned carrying these large package like it was normal on his hoverboard.  Thankfully, he kept it all upright without crashing.

As we were trying to honor COVID protocols, we met out on our front lawn and sat in distant chairs to catch up for one last time.  We will surely miss them when they are gone!
