Costa Rica Family Trip - Day 2 (Part 1 of 2)

 

These guys were obviously tired from the trip, because this is how we found them the next morning.  What is funny about this is that there were actually two beds in this room, and they opted to just roll in the same one.  I am not sure if something was wrong with the other one or they just decided to crash where they were from sharing stories the night before.

Our general plan for the trip was to have a beach day about every other day and then plan some excursion on the non-beach days.  Having just arrived, we thought the perfect plan would be to just hit the beach once everyone was up.  You can see these guys getting their first Costa Rican waves in their matching blue/green shorts.

I spent most of my time trying to find all of the best restaurants and different day-trip ideas for us to schedule out.  The first stop on our dining tour was this place called Waffle Monkey.  The place was absolutely epic.  Fresh waffles with almost any toping you could think of.  Tara and I each got the strawberries and cream, Gavin and Gage each got bacon, eggs, and waffles.  They were amazing and to top it all off, you head down from the shop to eat directly on the beach under these palm trees!  We will definitely be hitting up this place again at some point.
