Christmas Morning

I always look forward to spending Christmas morning together with just our family.  Here is Tara (with festive Reindeer ears), Gavin, and Gage getting some snuggle time in on the couch while reading the Christmas story from the bible.

Gage got this awesome Broncos hat from his brother and had to give him a big squeeze to tank him for it.  After a great morning together, it was our year with Tara's family for Christmas day so we headed over to their house for further celebrations and good food.

Christmas at Our House

Brent and I hosted Christmas at our house this year with Brent's family.  Pam and Bob were getting their house ready to sell, and I guess our house felt like less of a drive than going to Jackie's in Littleton.  It was so different not being at Pam's on Christmas, but we had a good time at our house.  The cousins enjoyed being together, and it was nice to have a landing place for everyone on the special occasion.

This pictures shows the full crew that was here.  Every couch and spare chair was occupied, but it ended up being nice and cozy.

Later in the day after opening all of the presents, the kids ended up downstairs in these little blankets watching some movies together while the adults had some conversation time.  We don't really see the cousins that often with them being on the far side of Denver, but they have a lot of fun when they are together.

Christmas Lights

As of a few years ago, Brent hangs the icicle lights on the house at Christmastime.  We pretend (Brent included, if he's honest) that we're not bothered by the weird blue LED lights that "we" picked a few years back, but we're bothered.  Not enough to buy regular, classy white lights YET, but I hope that time will come.

I love decorating the tree with my boys!

It's been fun to see their growing collection of Christmas ornaments over the years.

Ta-dah!  Another beautiful Christmas tree at the Koel house!
