Maui Trip - Day 1 (Part 2 of 5)

It was still a bit too early to check into our Airbnb for the week, so we went straight to the closest beach until the afternoon.  This is Keawakapu II beach in Kihei which was one of our favorite beaches of the whole trip.

We walked down the beach to the South after parking to explore a bit, but it wasn't too long before the guys wanted to jump right into the water.

This beach was particularly interesting because of these volcanic rock outcroppings all along the shore that created nice reefs for fish and other things to live and play in.  Gavin was excited to jump in first and led the way.

Gage quickly joined him and waded out into the waves as well.  Amazingly, as if on cue, we were almost immediately drawn to a pair of green sea turtles that were swimming quite close to shore.  We got to watch them but were careful not to get to close or approach them as that is illegal in Hawaii. These guys were already totally psyched!
