Gage gets a "big boy bike"...

It's been so much fun to watch Gage turn the biking corner. He and Daddy recently decided that
it was time for him to ride on Gavin's first "big boy bike" with training wheels. It took him a little while to get the hang of pedaling since he hadn't been doing any of that on his balance bike, but he caught on relatively quickly.

Meanwhile, Gavin likes to flip his bike over and take a closer look at it like Daddy does. It cracks me up every time.

It's funny--and totally frustrating--to see Gage leaning into his training wheels after he had gotten so good at balancing on his Strider bike. Watching the progression definitely puts the usefulness of training wheels into question.

Sometimes Gage needs a little boost from behind to get him started. Braking using his pedals is also a totally new concept since his little legs had been his brakes on his Strider bike.
